In this 30-hour course, we will explore and develop more age-and-stage- appropriate ways of teaching English in the preschool and early primary classroom. This course will provide you with lots of hands-on, oral activities, teaching strategies and language practice to help you become a more confi dent and effective preschool and early primary English teacher.

You will leave the course with a reading pack, an extensive bibliography, learning tools, classroom posters, a list of effective web sites, technology tools and your own teaching portfolio fi lled with activities and material to help you to teach English in the preschool and early primary classroom.

We will work together to:

1. create an interactive print-rich classroom that encourages speaking from
   the fi rst day of English class
   
2. make, learn and use several songs, chants, stories, big books, games and
   interactive activities
   
3. discover specifi c preschool and primary English language websites on
   the Internet for teachers, students and parents
   
4. incorporate easy-to-use technology in our language classroom
   
5. set up classroom routines for fuss-free classroom management
   
6. produce evaluation instruments that are student-centered, easy to
   manage and provide us with information about how each student is
   progressing,
   
7. connect with the family in order to increase opportunities for language
   use and involve caregivers in the English language learning process.
